If you have found this website, you are likely in the midst of a relationship with someone with a mental illness (such as bipolar) or personality disorder (such as borderline personality disorder). For some, perhaps you are just discovering a diagnosis or searching for answers to explain the strange behaviors you’re experiencing in the relationship. For others, you have passed this initial step and are struggling with the day to day challenges of living with someone with a disorder or illness. And of course, there are those who have reached the point of leaving the relationship and are struggling with all the emotions and difficulties associated with that process and the pain of having to make difficult decisions or the fall-out of a broken relationship.
This site is intended to be a resource for those looking for support and encouragement. It is not intended to be an all-encompassing resource for mental illness or personality disorders. I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist and I offer no professional ability to disgnose or treat anyone. Rather, this is a compilation of resources that were helpful to me when I went through a similar experience to what many of you are facing. I’ve included my story for context. My goal is to, in some small way, use my experiences to help someone who is going through a difficult time, just as there were those that helped me when I was in the middle of a fog and couldn’t see clearly. But now the fog has lifted, and it’s my turn to help and encourage someone who’s still in the center of the storm.
